You can start your travel at either the San Jose or Libera airport. San Juan International Airport (SJO) is located just outside the capital city of San Jose. This is the most popular airport and is a good starting point for most tours including Tortuguero and Osa Peninsula. Recently, I’ve added tours starting at the Daniel Quieros International Airport (LIR) in Liberia for those who would like to visit a beach on the Nicoya Peninsula and explore a few other locations on the way. Liberia is a small town about 2 hours from the beach.
