We had an incredible time in CR!

Both of the accommodations were excellent. I really enjoyed both of them. Hacienda Guachipelin was such an interesting destination. Clean and friendly. Great food. We took full advantage of the buffet and loved the open air dining area. Really enjoyed that it was so close to Liberia so that the first day, after arriving, we had only a short drive from the airport. Hotel Lomas del Volcano was lovely – the grounds were incredible. We had clear views of the volcano. We loved the pool area especially (and the piña coladas). It also seemed to be a central location, so everything we did (zip lines, sloth walk, hanging bridges) all were only a short drive away. Staff at both places were excellent – helpful and friendly.

Our guide Luis was a pro. Kept us on track. Offered great suggestions for our itinerary – seemed to know just what we were looking for. He was a fountain of information on CR, fauna, flora, and most anything we could think of to ask. Really a great guide for our trip and a consummate pro.

I’d like to put in a special word for our bus driver José Salas as well. He was an excellent driver, helpful in every way, and very enthusiastic. Bonus: his English was great. But moreover he was an excellent addition to our trip – a joyful personality and really fun to be around. Great with the kids and really connected with the adults. Highly recommend using him again.

We had a great couple days at the beach as well. Didn’t stray too far from our place on Playa Grande. We swam a lot and rented boogie boards. We hired a catamaran one morning and went snorkeling. Beautiful time on the ocean as well.

Thank you for your help in planning/organizing our vacation. We really had an incredible time!
I think we all plan to return to CR at some point. We will be in touch!
