We had a great trip! Thanks for putting together a really good itinerary. There were many highlights for us – the beach in Manuel Antonio, the zip line and hanging bridges at Selvatura in Monteverde, the tour at El Trapiche (also in Monteverde), a hot springs water park at Hotel Los Lagos in La Fortuna, a fun whitewater rafting trip in Sarapiqui, and the canal boat tour in Tortuguero.
There were no hiccups to speak of – the only thing we ran into was that the bridges at Selve Verde and Trimbina were damaged [GFA note: damaged in flooding

Walter, our guide was beyond great! He was patient with us and the kids and was the reason they were able to see as much wildlife as they did.

We had a terrific time in Costa Rica. We loved seeing all the animals up close and getting an authentic view of the country. The older kids, especially, could feel the difference when we went to Manuel Antonio at the end and understood more about what “touristy” means – which was educational and good for them.
Tour guide: We enjoyed
Walter a lot. He was professional, very knowledgeable and detailed. He was a great driver and very conscious of safety issues. Sometimes, he was a little rigid; you could tell if he was annoyed.

It was SUCH a great trip and I thank you very much for your excellent service.
Luis was wonderful and we were very lucky to have him with us. I know he showed us quite a lot that we would have missed. We do not have any complaints. It was incredibly hot for our time there – even the locals were complaining of the heat. But we managed with extra cold showers and water activities.

We had a great trip. We loved waking up to the sounds of the wildlife in the mornings, especially in the rainforest at Sarapiqui. When we got to the Boston airport around midnight last night, our 3-year-old Marc’s first comment was, “I miss Costa Rica.” So the kids enjoyed it too. They especially enjoyed the beach, which was not a surprise! They also loved the butterfly garden at the La Paz Waterfall Gardens. I hadn’t ever seen quite so many butterflies in a single butterfly garden before – there were times when three or four of them would land on the same person

Highlights I think were the hanging bridges in Monteverde, zip lining at the Ranarium (the girls fell in love with the instructors!!) and the Don Juan Finca tour in Fortuna. We had a wonderful vacation. Luis was so professional and clearly loves what he does. We learned so much about the plants and animals we saw from him, and he was extremely patient with our unruly crew. The accommodations were lovely, as well, at all our destinations. For us, Playa Negra [Guesthouse] was a dream because it was safe and easy with a toddler and had a pool, the beach and everything we wanted within a short walk. After some more ambitious exploration in the pouring rain, those couple of days at the end were paradise!

Well we have fallen in love with Costa Rica and Gil [guide] is so wonderful! It was very rainy and windy in Monteverde but we didn’t mind at all. Tons of rainbows! We are so glad we used Global Family for the start of our trip: put our minds at ease! We will be back again for sure!
